| 520 | |b The purpose of this document is to develop a health risk assessment on energy drinks, based on assess the reasons of energy beverages prevalence amongst youths and their effect of oral administration on biological parameters in rats. (A): the assessment study, this study was carried out in students University, the study population was 300 students all the male (150) and female (150) students. Participation was purely voluntary. Questionnaires were distributed through class leaders who subsequently collected them from the students who volunteered to respond. (B): the experimental study, Forty male albino rats were divided into 4 groups of 10 rats each and treated with three different kind of energy drinks (Power horse, Red bull and Monster) to determine their effect on biological parameters in rats. The results cleared that the students associate a variety of adverse effects with energy drinks; the commonest is ‘diuresis’ in males and ‘insomnia’ in females. There were adverse effects of biological parameters in rats as elevate the serum glucose and body weight . Also, there were increase in liver enzymes , lipid profiles and its impact on kidney function, whereas observed elevating in uric acid, urea nitrogen and creatinine . While, there were decrease in heart enzymes in all treatment groups. Finally, for a healthy body we have to drink the proper amount of water or any healthy beverages. | ||
