|a تحتل الأسواق المالية مكانة هامة في اقتصاديات معظم الدول، لما توفر من تعبئة للمدخرات وإعادة توظيف الأموال وتعرف الأسواق المالية على أنها سوق سلعته الأساسية هي الأوراق المالية ولا يشترط فيها الوجود المادي فمهمتها الأساسية تسهيل عملية الاتصال بين البائع والمشتري، وتعد الدول العربية حديثة العهد بالأسواق المالية –باستثناء بورصة الإسكندرية والقاهرة- ولم ترتكز في الغالب على الاستثمارات في الأوراق المالية وبشكل منظم حتى بداية السبعينات من القرن الماضي غير أنها شهدت انتشارا واسعا في الآونة الأخيرة
