يهدف هذا البحث إلى إلقاء الضوء على الموهوبين والمتفوقين، وعلى الدور الذي يمكن أن يلعبه كل من الفن، والتربية الفنية في اكتشاف مواهب الموهوبين وفي تنميتها. هذا وقد اختار الباحث المنهج الوصفي Descriptive approach لإجراء هذا البحث وذلك لمناسبته لهذا الموضوع الذي يعالج الموهبة والتفوق ونظرياتها ودور التربية الفنية في اكتشافها ورعايتها. ولم يستخدم الباحث التحليلات الكمية qualitative analysis ولا طرائق البحوث التجريبية الأمبريقية Emprirical Researches لعدم الحاجة لها في هذا البحث. وقد بدأ الباحث هذه الدراسة والتي يأمل أن يسد بها ثغرة في هذا المجال، بتعريف الموهوبين والمتفوقين Gifted and Talented وإضافة إلى الموهبة والتفوق فقد عرف الذكاء والإبداع والعبقرية. وانتقل بعد ذلك لعرض بعض النظريات في هذا المجال؛ وتعرض لأهم الإسهامات والتي شملت ما قدمه جاردنر Gardner (الذكاءات المتعددة Multiple intelligences(mi) وما قدمه تيلور) Taylor المواهب التسع) إضافة إلى نماذج سليشتر sclichterورايس Rice وأوضح علاقة التربية الفنية بالمواهب والذكاءات الواردة في النظريات والنماذج السابقة. ومن النتائج التي توصل لها الباحث أن للفن والتربية الفنية دور رئيس في تنمية الجانب العقلي أو (الأكاديمي) والذي كان يعتقد إلى عصر قريب أن الفن لا يهتم بتنميته وأن تنمية هذا الجانب مقتصرة على العلوم الرياضيات. وقد أورد الباحث عدداً من النصوص التي تؤيد دور الفن في اكتشاف المواهب وفي تنميتها؛ وناقش تلك النصوص. واختتم الباحث هذا البحث بخلاصة وبتوصيات كان من أهمها: ضرورة الاهتمام بالفن وبالتربية الفنية وزيادة الساعات، المحددة لها بمدارسنا وتنويع الأنشطة وإثرائها وتدريسها بطرائق حديثة تساعد على إخراج إبداعات التلاميذ. كما أوصى الباحث بضرورة تدريب معلمي ومعلمات رياض الأطفال بمواد ومقررات مكثفة تقدم لهم أثناء الدراسة لتعرفهم بطرائق اكتشاف المواهب وتنميتها ورعايتها.
The purpose of this research is to investigate-the theories of giftedness and talent and the role of art education in discovering and nurturing them in the Arab countries The researcher chose the descriptive approach to conduct this research because it suits this topic which deals with giftedness and talent, their theories and the roles of art education in discovering and nurturing them. The researcher has neither used the qualitative analysis nor the empirical research method because he felt no need for using them. The researcher has started his study by defining the gifted and talented, intelligence, creativity and genius. Then he discussed some theories related to this field and the contribution of Gardner (the theory of multiple intelligence) and Taylor (the nine aspects of giftedness- along with the models of Sclichter and Rice. After that he explained the relationship of Art education with talents and intelligences in the above mentioned theories and models. The research findings explained the essential role of art and art education in discovering and developing the "academic" side which was believed to be limited to science and mathematics - until very recently. A few quotations were selected to support the notion that art helps in discovering and nurturing giftedness and talent. The researcher concluded his esearch by a summary and a few recommendations that stressed the following: the importance of giving more attention to art and art education in our schools, diversing and enriching the art activities, introducing them to students through contemporary methodology that helps them in revealing the different talents of the students. The researcher has also recommended in - service training for kindergarten and primary male and female teachers in the methods of discovering and nurturing gifted and talented children \
