In financing its development, the Egyptian economy relies mainly on five main sources of foreign exchange; Oil and Gas ’ exports, Tourism revenues, Foreign Aid, Suez Canal revenues and Remittances from Egyptians working abroad. However, the global economic crisis hit these vital sources of government revenues. The research aims at determining the dominant constraint hindering economic growth in Egypt in the light of the two-gap model, namely, Saving-Investment gap and foreign exchange gap. Weisskopf's model was applied in Egypt over the period 1987-2005. The next step is to determine the role of remittances in financing the dominant constraint. \
