|b The aim of this paper is to study the U.S. National Security Council (NSC) and its impact on the US foreign policy by using the Suez war 1956i and the October War 1973ii as a case study. The paper tries to examine how the NSCiii as part of the executive power to respond to the changes in the international system after War World II. Eisenhower's NSC had little impact on Eisenhower decision; instead, he listened carefully to Dulles's recommendation after the occurrence of the Suez war 1956. Nixon's NSC had no impact on the Nixon decision of the October war 1973. Nevertheless, Kissinger was a main actor in managing the decision making process of the October war 1973 through the Washington Special Action Group (WSAG).
