يتناول البحث موضوع الارتداد عن اليهودية في القص العبري الحديث ويعرض خاصة لقصة (شفقة أم) للأديب اليهودي جوردون كنموذج، وذلك من خلال الانتقال من العام إلى الخاص، فيعرض البحث لهذا الموضوع في القص العبري عامة، ثم يتنقل للحديث عنه في قصة جوردون موضوع البحث، وهذا من خلال دراسة في المضمون والشكل قصد الباحث منها التأكيد على رسوخ هذه الفكرة في القصة، ويتبع البحث المنهج التحليلي النقدي، وينتهي بعرض لمجموعة من النتائج من أبرزها أن موضوع الارتداد عن اليهودية هو موضوع مطروح منذ بدايات الأدب العبري الحديث وحتى مراحله المعاصرة، إذ يمتاز طرحه بالاستمرارية، كما يختلف هذا الطرح باختلاف الادباء وتوجهاتهم، ويحتل التناول الرمزي لهذه القضية مكان الصدارة في التعبير الأدبي، ولم يقصد الأدباء اليهود من هذا التناول الإساءة إلى الشريعة اليهودية، بيد أنهم قصدوا التحريض على الإصلاح الديني، ولفت الانتباه إلى هذه الظاهرة التي لا يمكن إنكارها أو غض البصر عنها.
This research presents the topic of Apostasy out of Judaism in Hebrew novels and stories, and shows specifically the story of (Mother’s Mercy) for the Jewish writer "Jordan" as a model, and that is through the transition between the public aspect to the private aspect, so it shows this topic in the Hebrew novels and stories generally, then it switches to focus on the Jordan’s story that is studied in the topic of this research and that is through a study in content and form where the researcher intended to highlight the deepness of this idea in the story. The research is following the analytical critical method and ends with showing a group of results, one of its most important is that the topic of Apostasy out of Judaism is an open topic since the beginning of the modern Hebrew literature to its current time, which its presentation features a continuity that also differs with the difference of writers and their thoughts, and the symbolic handling of this issue have an important position in the literary expression. The Jewish writers didn’t intend to abuse the Judaism but they intended to encourage the religious reformation and to direct the attentions to this phenomenon that can’t be denied.
