|b This paper is based on two common foundations in Modern Criticism; they are: First: vast amount of denotation in Arabic literature and studies which was so beneficial for this research. Second: the literature of interpretation in reading a literary text as laid down by Western scholars like Umberto Eco (1) and Paul Ricoeur. Further, some studies by Modernist Arab Critics as well as some modem semiotics were considered in this study. Some earlier relating studies were also taken account. In fact, the study focuses on the poetic works of the Palestinian poet Almutawakkil, namely; inscriptions on the Murals of Mahmoud Darwish. In this study, we postulate to explicate the basic interpretations, which we adopt, thus contributing to critical studies of merging interpretation with denotation.

|a تنطلق فكرة بحثنا هذا من مرتكزين أساسيين شاعا في النقد الحديث، وهما: المرتكز الأول: وينطلق مما جاد به علم الدلالة من دراسات وبحوث أغنت المكتبة العربية، وأفدنا منها في حدود بحثنا. والمرتكز الثاني: وينطلق مما جاد به علم التأويل في قراءة النص الأدبي الذي أسس له عديد من العلماء الغربيين من مثل أمبرتو إيكو، وبول ريكور وما أصل له وأسهم فيه بعض النقاد العرب الحداثيين، مع الإلمام ما أمكن بما جادت به السيميائيات الحديثة في هذا المجال. ونفيد من المرتكزات التأويلية التي تقع على العينة المدروسة، وهي التي خصصنا بها الشاعر الفلسطيني المتوكل طه في مجموعته الشعرية الموسومة بــ (نقوش على جدارية محمود درويش) ونقوم بتفصيل المرتكزات التأويلية التي تبنيناها في صدر هذه الدراسة، متوخين أن نتابع جهوداً نقدية أسهم فيها التقاء علم الدلالة بالتأويل.
