Research Title: An Elixir in the Arab Legacy- Written Literature Encompasses (Prose and Poetry). Introduction An Elixir is an international concept that reached the Arab land as well as the whole world. This concept combines reality and fantasy. In brief "An Elixir was supposed to be a remedy that would cure all diseases and prolong life. It was sought as a mythical substance which would enable the transmutation of common metals into gold or silver. The researcher attempts to track down the account and extrapolation of the Arab legacy uprose and poetry-on the Elixir concept. Procedural objectives of the Research. 1-To define Elixir, concept and history. 2-To explicit the Arab civilization status accorded to Elixir in both prose and poetry. 3-To introduce the prominent scientists of the Islamic era and their workmanship, specifically, in the Elixir. 4-To identify the most essential objective and technical characteristics of the science in relation with the Arab environment. 5-To clarify issues related to the Elixir such as: 1)Acceptance and rejection. 2)Chemistry and Semiotics. 3)Philosophy. 4)Magic and hallucination. The Importance of the Research This research is meant to insight into the idea of the Elixir and investigate its role in the Arab period which extended to eight centuries and then extrapolate the various types of connotations to perceive the general features of Elixir concept in the Arabic text, both poetry and prose whether objective, technical or formal. The researcher aims to shed light on the Elixir language, an area that might not be tracked by scholars. Thus the researcher's attempt is to throw light on the Arab sustained civilization presenting the Arab scientists efforts; their works include genres such as knowledge, science, research and experience. Research Methodology The researcher depends on the displaced inductive method to collect the data then classify its information and extrapolate the various connotations provided. Research Results Research objectives comes as follows: The Arabic language literature, poetry and prose, contained a range of Elixir account ; treated in refined style. The Arab Elixir era was an era of science. The Elixir science is one of the earliest recorded examples attested the Arab poetry on Elixir during the first century of Hijrah, then proceeded in late ages, burgeoning through 800 years. The Arab output in Elixir is characterized by knowledge, honesty and experience as well. The Arab accounts refrain from hypocrisy and superstition which overwhelmed Elixir history. This science is distinguished by objective and technical characteristics such as mystery, secrecy; praised and defended workmanship, argued its voyage and diversified terminology which has not been changed since the arrival of Elixir to the Arab world. The Elixir existed in the first century and remained active and popular till the mid of the 9th century. Today its echoes so far enjoy great importance, especially as this idea interact with one of the most crucial modem sciences, chemistry and semiotics.
