المستخلص: يظل الإرهاب الشغل الشاغل لقادة الأمة العربية والإسلامية وشعوبها؛ جراء التبعات الكارثية التي يتركها من قتل وترويع للآمنين، وتشــويه متعمد للدين الإســلامي الحنيف، ولما كان العلماء المسلمون ولا يزالون صمام الأمــان للأمة وورثــة الأنبياء؛ ونظراً للدور الذي يمكن أن يقومــوا به في الوقاية من الإرهاب وإدانته وكشف زيف أفكار قادته ومعتنقيه وفضح أساليبهم وفساد معتقدهم، وفي نشر ثقافة التســامح والوســطية والاعتدال في المجتمعات العربية والإسلامية نظم مركز الدراســات والبحوث في جامعة نايف العربية للعلوم الأمنية مؤتمراً بعنوان «دور العلماء في الوقاية من الإرهاب والتطرف» لمناقشة الواقع المعاصر لدور العلماء المسلمين في حماية المجتمعات العربية والإســلامية ووقايتها من الإرهاب والتطرف، وقد حظي المؤتمر بمشاركة كوكبة من أصحاب الفضيلة العلماء ورجال الفكر والمختصين.
وقد شــارك في المؤتمر نحو 600 مشــارك من اثنتي عشرة دولة عربية وإسلامية، هي: المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، والإمارات العربية المتحدة، ومملكة البحرين، والجمهورية الجزائرية الديمقراطية الشعبية، والمملكة العربية السعودية، وجمهورية السودان، وسلطنة عمان، ودولة الكويت، والجمهورية اللبنانية، وجمهورية مصر العربية، والمملكة المغربية، وجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية.
كما حضر حفل افتتاح المؤتمر عدد من ممثلي السفارات الأجنبية والمنظمات الدولية.
وقد هدف المؤتمر إلى تشخيص الواقع المعاصر لدور العلماء في الوقاية من الإرهاب والتطرف، وإبراز أهمية ذلك الدور في دعم الجهود المبذولة لمعالجة الإرهاب والتطرف، وصولاً إلى تقديم تصورات مستقبلية لدور العلماء بما يعزز قيم الاعتدال والوسطية.

Terrorism remains the main concern of the leaders of the Arab and Islamic nation and its peoples because of the catastrophic consequences of killing and terrorizing the faithful and deliberate distortion of the true religion of Islam. Muslim scholars are still the safety valve for the nation and the heirs of the prophets, Given the role they can play in preventing and condemning terrorism and exposing the falsity of the ideas of its leaders and followers, exposing their methods and perversion of their beliefs. In the dissemination of a culture of tolerance, moderation and sagacity in Arab and Islamic societies, the Studies and Research Center at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences organized a conference entitled "The role of Islamic scholars in the prevention of terrorism and extremism" to discuss the contemporary reality of the role of Islamic scholars in protecting Arab and Islamic societies and preventing them from terrorism and extremism. The conference was attended by a group of eminent Islamic scholars, intellectuals and specialists. The conference was attended by about 600 participants from twelve Arab and Islamic countries, namely: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of the Sudan, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Kuwait, the Republic of Lebanon, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by a number of representatives of foreign embassies and international organizations. The conference aimed to identify the contemporary reality of the role of Islamic scholars in the prevention of terrorism and extremism, and highlighting the importance of that role in supporting efforts to address terrorism and extremism and to provide future visions of the role of Islamic scholars to promote the values of moderation and tolerance.
