حاول هذا البحث أن يقدم ثلاث إجابات متواضعة لثلاث مسائل، الأولى عن سؤال إشكالي، أرق الكثير من الباحثين في فكر الغزالي، والمتمحور في مرض الغزالي والمسمى بالكنظ أو الغنظ، فيما إذا كانا سببا في شكه. بتعبير آخر هل مرض الغزالي هو الذي أنتج شكه؟ كما حاولنا أن نقدم إجابة للمسألة الثانية والمتمثلة في شك الغزالي، لنتبين أي نوع هو؟ وما مدى تأثيره على حياة الغزالي الفكرية، مستقصين اختلاف الباحثين حول تحديد بداية أزمة الشك عنده، وكذلك حول أسبابها وأهميتها وتأثيرها على ثقته بالحواس والعقل كمصدرين رئيسيين لمعرفة الحقيقة. وكيف استطاع الغزالي الخروج من أرمته تلك. أما بخصوص المسألة الثالثة فقد تمحورت حول أسباب تصوف الغزالي، وهل هو نتيجة لتأثير والده وأستاذه، أو أن اختياره التصوف لجأ إليه كنتيجة طبيعية أو ضرورية وكحل شاف وكاف في نفس الوقت لما انتابه من شك في عجز الإنسان عن الوصول إلى عالم اليقين. وإذا كان الغزالي قد تأرجح في بداية طريقه بين الشك واليقين، فإنه قد حسم في نهاية المطاف خياره حول ثبوت الحق الذي وجده في مذهب المتصوفة. لأنه علم يقينا كما يقول: أن المتصوفة هم السالكون لطريق الله تعالى خاصة أن سيرتهم أحسن السير وطريقهم أصوب الطرق.
This research attempted to provide three modest responses to three questions. The first question is problematic. It bewildered a lot of researchers in the thought of Al-Ghazali, which is centered in Al-Ghazali’s disease called Alghannz; whether it is the cause of his doubt. In other words, is it Al- Ghazali disease that produced his doubt? We also tried to offer an answer to the second issue and of course, al-Ghazali doubt, to discern any kind is it? And its impact on the intellectual life of Al-Ghazali?. We trace the disagreement of the researchers about determining the beginning of doubt crisis with him, as well as on their causes, their importance and their impact on his confidence in the senses and the mind as major sources to find out the truth. How could Al-Ghazali get out of the crisis?. Regarding the third issue, it has focused on the causes of Sufism of Al-Ghazali, and is it a result of the impact of his father and mentor, or his choice of mysticism that he resorted to as a natural or necessary result and as a conclusive and sufficient solution at the same time to what was his doubt in the inability of the human access to the world of certainty. If Al-Ghazali had swung at the beginning of the way between doubt and certainty, he has resolved his right choice at the end about the truth establishment which he found in the doctrine of the Sufis. Because he knows for sure he says that the Sufis are the followers of the path of God, especially as their careers are the best way to walk and most desirable roads.
