المستخلص: يعد الأرشيف التاريخي إرثا ثقافيا وحضاريا للأمم والشعوب. إذ أن وثائقه تعد الشاهد الأكبر لكل النواحي والتطورات الإدارية والسياسية والاجتماعية والعسكرية والثقافية والفنية وهذا ما يساعدها في التعرف على تاريخها لفترة زمنية محدودة وما تحويه من حقائق تاريخية متعلقة بتاريخ الدولة ومؤسساتها، وما يحمله من حقائق تحفظ الذاكرة الوطنية وتثمّن ماضيها وتثبت الأحداث والوقائع التاريخية ليتأمل فيه في المستقبل. فهو أصدق تعبير لمسار الدولة وشهادة حية عن رموز الدولة، كما أنه يمكنها من سد الثغرات الناقصة ويكمل الحلقات المفقودة. فهو عنصر أساسي للوعي التاريخي تستطيع من خلاله الدولة أن تبني وجهتها المستقبلية وتحفظ ذاكرتها الوطنية.
ويستمد هذا البحث أهميته من أهمية الموضوع الذي يعالجه، وهو دور الأرشيف التاريخي في توثيق البحث العلمي من خلال استطلاع رأي طلبة قسم التاريخ تخصص تاريخ معاصر ـــــــ جامعة عبد الحميد مهري. وهذا من خلال استعراض علاقة الأرشيف التاريخي بالبحث العلمي، لما تحتويه هذه المرافق من وثائق ذات قيمة تاريخية لا تقدر بثمن ولذلك يقال -من لا تاريخ له لا مستقبل له – وعليه فمراكز الأرشيف تعتبر حلقة وصل بين الماضي والحاضر ومرجعا لبناء المستقبل، وبالتالي تتجلى أهمية الدراسة في معرفة مدى اعتماد طلبة قسم التاريخ بجامعة عبد الحميد مهري للأرشيف التاريخي لما يحويه هذا الأخير من وثائق تاريخية لها علاقة ببحوثهم العلمية.

The historical archive is considered a cultural and civilizational heritage of nations and peoples, as its documents are the greatest witness to all the aspects and administrative, political, social, military, cultural and artistic developments. This helps them in recognizing their history for a limited period of time and their historical facts related to the history of the state and its institutions and the facts that preserve the national memory and value its past and establishes the events and historical facts for future reflection. It is the most truthful expression of the path of the State and a living testimony of the State symbols, and it can fill the missing gaps and complete the missing links. It is an essential element of historical awareness through which the state can build its future direction and preserve its national memory.
This research derives its importance from the importance of the subject that it deals with, which is the role of the historical archive in documenting the scientific research, through a survey of the students of history department, specializing in the contemporary history- University of Abdelhamid Mehri. This is carried out by reviewing the relationship between the historical archives and scientific research, because these facilities contain documents of historical value that are invaluable. Therefore, it is said that those who forget their history have no future. Therefore, the archive centers are a link between the past and the present and a reference for building the future. Hence, the importance of the study is to know the extent to which the students of the Department of History at Abdul Hamid Mehri University have accredited the historical archives of the latter's historical documents related to their scientific research.
