اهتم هذا البحث بدراسة تأثير المقام في تشكيل البناء النحوي من خلال التطبيق على شعر عبد الرحمن العشماوي. وبدأت الدراسة ببيان فكرة المقام لدى علماء النحو والبلاغة القدماء ، وبيان آرائهم في توضيح أثر المقام في تشكيل البناء اللغوي، وانتقاء الألفاظ وبناء الجمل وَفْقًا لما صاحبها من مقامات، وهو ما عبروا عنه بقولهم: (لكل مقام مقال) أو (لكل كلمة مع صاحبتها مقام). أما مدى تأثير سياق المقام في النص الشعري، فتمت دراسته في جانب تطبيقي تناول أهم مظاهر البناء النحوي لدى عبد الرحمن العشماوي والتي تمثلت في (التكرار) و(التقديم والتأخير) ثم (النداء) و(الاستفهام). وقد ظهر من خلال الدراسة أن سياق المقام ذو تأثير كبير في إبراز ظواهر نحوية معينة، وأن الظاهرة النحوية التي تستخدم في موقف ما قد تكون ذات تأثير مختلف إذا استخدمت في موقف مغاير.
