المستخلص: Abbasid era was full of some of the writers who have had a large status in Arabic literature and its history, but they did not receive adequate documentary studies. So they could not become very famous like other notable figures. That’s the reason we are unable to find any writer from the past and present who wrote in detail about the writer Jafar bin Qudamah. Except the few pages written by the authors who made study about his son Qudamah bin Jafar (D 337 AH), but what they wrote, in spite of being brief, could not be free from errors and omissions. Because of my long companionship with Qudamah bin Jafar I found his father very prominent figure who needs more research and study, hence this study came forth in which we tried to highlight unknown aspects of his life and literature.
