المستخلص: Muslims were the owners of huge Gnostic heritage as a result of the proliferation of authoring and translation movement that filled parts of the Islamic State, However, what we got from that heritage is a very small percentage, whereas the remainder perished due to exposure of the Arab and Muslim world to wars and invasions and internal and external strife. However, these misfortunes were not the only factor, as some other factors have also contributed to the demise of much of the Arab and Islamic heritage, and the most important of them was conduct of scholars themselves. Scholars have got rid of their books and destroyed them in several ways; like burning them intentionally, or washing them out with water, or burying in the ground, or tearing and throwing them in the air, or abandoning them in the desert or dumping in rivers, wells or the sea, or destroying and disposing in any other way, This is what will be covered in this study.
