|f He began his life as a refugee in his homeland, grew up in love with Zafuriyah, a destroyed town of which only the ruins of houses, a fountain and a tree of berries remained. The Tsipori colony was established on its ruins which could defeat the memory of the indigenous people.\nHe entered the conflict with the settlers from the gate of Char Darwish, altercated with the thought of Emil Touma, the charisma of Tawfiq Ziad, and the political statesmanship of Tawfiq Toubi.\nHe mastered the Hebrew language and understood the characteristics and secrets of the place and thus made a fundamental difference between the indigenous who are united with the place and the stranger thief settler.\nHe was among those who screwed up the meeting to break the strike and echoed with Tawfiq Ziyad: The people have decided to strike. It was the glorious Earth Day which brought about a qualitative leap in defending rights, land, political pluralism and hitting the Zionist parties. He criticized the communists and their mistakes while he also praised their role in putting forward a political solution and in resisting the consequences of the Nakba, and called for changing the party name. \nHe spent 15 years as a member of the Knesset, during which he clashed with the policy of aggression and racism, and extracted from his experience of struggle: The importance of influencing Israeli society from within; adopting peaceful popular resistance; going to the International Court; boycotting Israel. He is the Chairman of the Arab Follow-up Committee, Mohammed Baraka, an activist on the ground and in the Knesset. |a بدأ حياته لاجئا في وطنه، ترعرع في حب صفورية، البلدة المدمرة التي لم يبق منها إلا أطلال بيوت ونبع وشجرة توت، وعلى أنقاضها أقيمت مستعمرة تسيبوري التي لم تهزم ذاكرة السكان الأصليين.\nدخل الصراع مع المستوطنين من بوابة شعر درويش، وناقر بفكر إميل توما، وبكاريزما توفيق زياد، وبحنكة توفيق طوبي السياسية.\n أتقن اللغة العبرية وألم بخصائص المكان وأسراره، فأحدث فرفأ جوهريا بين أصلاني متحد مع المكان، ومستوطن سارق غريب.\nكان من الذين أفشلوا اجتماع كسر الإضراب، وردد مع توفيق زياد: الشعب قرر الإضراب، فكان يوم الأرض المجيد الذي أحدث نقلة نوعية في الدفاع عن الحقوق والأرض، والتعددية السياسية، والانقضاض عن الأحزاب الصهيونية. نقد انحرافات الشيوعيين واخطاءهم، وأشاد بدورهم في طرح الحل السياسي وفى مقاومة آثار النكبة، ودعا إلى تغيير اسم الحزب.\nأمضى خمسة عشر عاما في عضوية الكنيست، اشتبك خلالها مع سياسة العدوان والعنصرية، واستخلص من تجربته النضالية: أهمية التأثير في المجتمع الإسرائيلي من داخله؛ اعتماد المقاومة الشعبية السلمية؛ الذهاب إلى المحكمة الدولية؛ مقاطعة إسرائيل. إنه رئيس لجنة المتابعة العربية محمد بركة، المناضل على الأرض وفى الكنيست، وقد كان لـ مجلة الدراسات الفلسطينية هذا الحوار معه في 17 كانون الثاني ايناير ٢٠١٦، في مقر مؤسسة الدراسات الفلسطينية. رام الله.
