اشتمل بحث: "تجديد الدين مفهومه وضوابطه وآثاره" على بيان معنى التجديد في اللغة والاصطلاح، والتعريف بالمجدد وما ينبغي أن يتحلى به من صفات، وبعد ذلك جاء في البحث ذكر ضوابط التجديد ومجالاته، والتي من أهمها: • الحرص الشديد على المحافظة على أصول الدين وفروعه. • التفريق بين الثوابت وبين ما يقبل التغيير. • أن يراعي الفكر التجديد القواعد العامة في الإفتاء. ولتجديد الدين آثار في الماضي وله أهميته في مستقبل الأمة. فهو طريق إلى حفظ الدين على صورته النقية بعيدا عن البدع التي أضيفت إليه. وتجديد الدين يفتح الباب واسعا إلى الاستزادة من العلم والمعرفة، والرجوع إلى المعين الذي لا ينضب إلى كتاب الله وسنة رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم والعمل بما فيهما. وأخيرا وضحت المفاهيم الخاطئة حول التجديد. وختمت بخاتمة ذكرت فيها أهم نتائج البحث التي كان منها التنويه والتأكيد على أن التجديد ليس استخفافا بكل قديم، ولا انبهارا بكل جديد بدعوى أن الجديد يمثل دائما التقدم والرقي، وأن القديم يمثل التخلف، فهذه دعوى مرفوضة. وإنما التجديد في الدين هو إحياء السنة بعد اندراسها لا إحداث أصول جديدة أو ابتداع سنة حديثة، ولا يعني هذا صياغة الأصول صياغة تلائم العصر.
This article reports on a study of the revival of religion in terms of its concept, the controlling rules and the consequences of this religious revival; therefore, it elucidates the definitional and lexical meanings of the term, and the definition of a reviver as an innovator, outlining the characteristics and traits that he should be described by. Afterwards, the author has elaborated on the rules of religious revival and the areas in which innovation can work, encompassing: intense care to preserve the fundamentals of religion and its main branches; the discrimination between established religious knowledge and alterable knowledge; Innovative thinking must pay rapt attention to the rules of innovation well set forth in Ifta'a (the production of religious opinion using ijtihad). Religion revival has its consequences in the past as it does at the present time and in the future of the Muslim Umma. It is the way of Islam to preserve its purity far from opinionated innovations superfluously added to text exegesis. In fact, revival of religion opens the door wide to questing and expanding knowledge yet with reference to the fundamental sources of the Holy Book of Quran and the traditions of Prophet Mohamed and in accordance with Islamic Sharia. Misconceptions and fallacies about revival of religion have been elaborated in detail in this article. The article ends on notes and implications drawn from the findings of the study which indicate that revival of religion does not mean the ironical dismantling of already established religious knowledge, nor does it mean an amazing admiration of the innovative on the false assumption that the latter indicates progress and prosperity. In other words, the opinion that the old, established knowledge is representative of backwardness is rejected as null and void. Innovation of religion truly means the revival of the Sunna in the hearts of the followers of Islam after it had been wiped out in everyday Muslim practice of religion. It does not entitle, therefore, the creation of new religion or a modern religious tradition. It doesn't either mean the reformulation of the fundamentals of Islam to accommodate the modern age.
