المستخلص: لم تعد الرحلة عند النقاد المحدثين وثيقة تاريخية، و لا خريطة جغرافية فحسب، بل أصبحت بفضل أدبيتها من الفنون السردية التي تغري الدارسين و نقاد الأدب بتناولها، و دراستها من حيث بناؤها الفني، و تحليلها من حيث مكوناتها التي تقوم عليها، كالحدث و الشخصيات و المكان و الزمان...و الأكيد، أن نقطة الارتكاز الأساسية في هذه العناصر كلها، هي الشخصية المركزية ، ممثلة في شخص الرحالة باعتباره هو من يقوم بالرحلة فعلا و حركة، و هو في الغالب من يلفّظها، و يتحكم في سرد أحداثها، و يسيطر على جميع المشاهد فيها.
لدراسة هذه الشخصية من حيث بناؤها و علاقتها مع الآخر يأتي هذا المقال ليجيب على مجموعة من الأسئلة أهمها : على أي أساس تأخذ شخصية الرحالة صفة المركزية ؟ و من أين تستمد مشروعية وصفها بالبطل ؟ و ما طبيعة علاقة هذه الشخصية بغيرها من الشخصيات المرافقة و الطارئة ؟ وهل ينظر النقاد لهذه الشخصية بنفس المنظار الذي ينظرون به لبطل الرواية ؟ كل ذلك سيمثل مجال بحث و دراسة من خلال الوقوف على الشخصية المركزية في الرحلة الورثيلانية التي اتخذت كنموذج للرحلة الجزائرية في العهد العثماني.

Certainement la personnalité centrale qui désigne le personnage du voyageur est le premier pilier dans l’expédition puis que c’est lui le voyageur en action et en mouvement. Le plus souvent c’est le voyageur qui transforme l’expédition à un récit ou il énumère ses événements en dominant tous les actes. De ce- ci la personnalité centrale prend sa légitimité dans son importance et dans son étude. A travers cet article on essaye de faire une recherche sur le portrait du héro de l’expédition « elwartilania »et sa relation avec les personnages accompagnants et importants.

The journey is no more a historical document or geographical map only to the modern critics, rather thanks to its literary significance; It has become one of the narrative arts also which tempts the scholars and the critics of literature to deal with it, to study it in terms of its artistic structure and to analyze it in terms of its components on which it relies such as event, characters, place and time.
It is certain that the central point of all these elements is the main character which represents the person who travels a lot as it is the person who actually makes the journey, plans for it, keeps narrating the incidents of the journey and enjoys all the beautiful views and get lost in them.
In order to study this character in terms of its structure and its relationship with the other, this article answers to a series of questions, the most important of which are: On what basis is the personality of the traveler considered to be the main character? And what makes it eligible to be described as the hero? What is the nature of the relationship of this character with the other accompanying and existing characters? Do the critics of this character look the same way they look at the hero of the novel?
All this will be a field of study and research by getting acquainted with the main character of the journey that was taken as a model of the Algerian journey in the Ottoman era.
