The core of this research focuses on the visual sign and its role on production and receiving within the novel context. It aims to reveal one of the Arabic novel aspect of coping with developed technology where the visual channel draw the attention of cognition and communication. Therefore, one of the most important. role of it, is revealing the presence of photographic images and their effectiveness and its narrative functions according to semiotics vision that enriches by critical practice in one narrative model which is (Balcony of Delirium) by Ibrahim Nasrallah ما يطرحه هذا البحث ينصب تركيزه على العلامة البصرية، ودورها في الإنتاج والتلقي داخل النص الروائي، يقصد الكشف عن أحد جوانب مسايرة الرواية العربية لمظاهر التطور التقني، الذي احتلت فيه القناة البصرية مقدمة الاهتمام في مجالي الإدراك والتواصل، ولذلك فإن من أبرز المهام المنوطة به؛ الكشف عن مدى حضور الصور الفوتوغرافية ومدى فاعليتها وآليات اشتغالها ووظائفها في السرد، وفق رؤية سيميائية تترسخ عبر الممارسة النقدية في أنموذج روائي واحد هو (شرفة الهذيان) لإبراهيم نصر الله.
