The X- Ray Fluorescence (XRF) method and Infrared spectra (I.R) were used to study the effect of the Derna cement dusts on the levels of the metal oxide contents at surface and subsurface soil samples collected from locations around the El – Fateah region .The results which obtained in this study indicated that ,there is direct effect of the cement dusts on metal oxides distribution of the soil samples under investigation , where there are difference between the surface and subsurface contents of the oxides, Generally ,high levels of the metal oxides recorded in the surface comparing with the subsurface samples. Also the data showed that the high contents recorded in some sectors comparing with others, where the high values recorded at south and west of factory locations. Mainly, the results of the two applied methods (XRF and I.R) are agreement together; where the main functional groups were recorded in I.R analysis are harmony with XRF analysis. Most of samples containing Si, Ca, Al and Fe metals in different chemical structure, other small contents of oxides also recorded at the main studied stations.
