المستخلص: The main aim of this study is to explore the awareness of effective communication through the Web in Arab Universities. Since the university is an institution based on the production, delivery and dissemination of knowledge, so they are in desperate need of all effective communicative means that help to ensure the success of its mission. Based on the theoretical foundations of effective communication, the study developed a set of 30 requirements. If the university website meets these requirements, there is evidence that the university communicates effectively. The study raises the following questions: 1. To what extent do Arab Universities provide their websites with effective communication requirements? 2. Which requirements are more available through the Arab universities websites that can be considered essential? 3. Are there significant differences between the websites of universities that belong to Arab Middle East and the Maghreb in providing effective communication requirements? The study population consists of 21 Arab League sites on the web, some of them belong to public universities and others belong to private universities from 19 countries. Websiteshad been observed and analyzed during the month of April 2013 and March 2016. The results show variation in provision of the 30 effective communication requirements. Qatar University website is the only one which provided all requirements, while the University of Algiers website provided only 37.93% of them.
