هذا البحث يتناول ظاهرة تناسب رؤوس الآي، وما لهذا التناسب من أثر نحوي أو صرفي، وذلك أن الناظر في كتاب الله يجد التناسب اللفظي في رؤوس كثير من الآيات بل تجد التناسب في سور كاملة، وقد يحصل أحياناً عدول عن الأصل مراعاة للفاصلة القرآنية، وجاء هذا البحث في مقدمة وتمهيد وفصلين وخاتمة. تناول البحث في التمهيد بعض الدراسات السابقة المتعلقة بالبحث، ثم أشار إلى بعض المصطلحات المستعملة في هذا الموضوع، ثم أشار إلى ضابط الفاصلة، وأنواعها، وفوائدها، والفرق بينها وبين السجع والقافية، ثم أجاب عن سؤال وهو: هل ما حصل من مخالفة للأصل إنما هو لمجرد التناسب فقط أو لعلة أخرى؟ ثم أشار البحث إلى ما قد يحصل أحياناً من العدول عن الأصل في غير رأس الآية تبعا للعدول عن الأصل في رأس الآية، ثم عرض البحث سؤالا وهو هل يلزم في إدارة التناسب الاتفاق في الحرف الأخير كحال حرف الروي في الشعر؟ وأجاب عليه، وبعدها ذكر مسألة العدول عن المناسبة عندما تعارض بشيء آخر. وفي الفصل الأول حاول البحث جمع أكبر قدر من الآيات التي حصل فيها مخالفة للأصل لأجل التناسب مرتبة المسائل النحوية حسب ترتيب ألفية ابن مالكـ، وبدأت في مسائل الصرف بما يتعلق بتصريف الأفعال ثم الأسماء ثم ما هو مشترك بينهما، وهذا الفصل وهو صلب البحث وأكثره، وفيه تذكر الآية في الموضع المناسب لها، ثم يشار إلى أصل المسألة النحوية أو الصرفية، وكيف حصلت مخالفة هذا الأصل، مع دعم ذلك في كثير من الأحيان بكلام العلماء من النحويين والمفسرين. ونظرا لوجود أثر دلالي لعدد من المسائل النحوية والصرفية أثرت أن يتضمن عنوان البحث الإشارة إلى ذلك. وفي الفصل الثاني جاءت الدراسة، وفيها عدة مباحث، وهي: الأول: رأي العلماء في تناسب رؤوس الآي، والثاني: أبرز العلماء الذين أشاروا للتناسب بين رؤوس الآي، والثالث: أن القول بالتناسب في بعض المواضع يخلص من التكلف، والرابع: حكم مخالفة الأصل للتناسب في الكلام المنثور، وضمت الخاتمة أهم نتائج البحث. ثم ذيل البحث بالمصادر والمراجع.
