المستخلص: تمثل التجربة التربوية التي قادتها جمعية العلماء المسلمين الجزائريين في ميدان التربية والتعليم إحدى أخصب التجارب التي حاولت الربط بين التعليم والتربية والتنمية الاجتماعية، واستطاعت أن تحقق لها نتائج ملموسة ساهمت من خلالها في بناء وتنمية المجتمع الجزائري والوصول به إلى تحقيق حريته واستقلاله.
ولقد ظهرت هذه التجربة كرد فعل على الآثار والانعكاسات التي خلفتها السياسة الفرنسية المنتهجة على جميع الأصعدة الاجتماعية والثقافية الاقتصادية وغيرها، إذ فقد أفراد المجتمع الجزائري أراضيهم وأملاكهم التي كانت تمثل لهم المصادر الوحيدة للرزق، وتفشت البطالة بنسب كبيرة وشهدت الجزائر عديد الكوارث كالمجاعات بسبب الأمراض ونقص التغذية وانتشار الفقر بين السكان والآفات الاجتماعية، كما تقلّصت دور العلم وانحصر التعليم داخل فئات محدودة وساد الجهل والأمية أغلب السكان.
ولقد شملت الجهود التربوية لجمعية العلماء المسلمين الجزائريين مختلف الميادين والفئات الاجتماعية داخل المجتمع وذلك من أجل ضمان تنمية ونهضة شاملة ومتكاملة.
ولذلك جاءت هذه المداخلة لمحاولة إبراز الجهود التربوية التي كانت تقوم بها جمعية العلماء المسلمين الجزائريين، والدور الذي لعبته في تنمية المجتمع الجزائري خلال مرحلة معينة من تاريخ الجزائر، وكيف ساهمت هذه الجهود في بناء هذا المجتمع وتهيئته لمعركة الحرية والاستقلال

The educational experiment led by the Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars within the field of education represents one of the most fruitful experiments which attempted to make a linkage between education and social development. It was able to accomplish for it significant results which contributed, through them, to the building and development of the Algerian society and to reach, by it, the realization of its freedom and independence.
This experience emerged as a reaction to the effects and consequences which the French policy on all social, cultural and economic levels pursued upon all levels; social, cultural and economic among others. That is as the members of the Algerian society lost their lands and properties which had represented for them the single source of sustenance and unemployment spread greatly. Algeria suffered a number of disasters like famines due to disease, undernutrition, the spread of poverty amongst and social ills amongst the population. Just as the role of knowledge diminished and education was restricted to limited groups, whilst ignorance and illiteracy prevailed over most of the population.
The educational efforts of the Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars have covered various fields and social groups within the society, to ensure a comprehensive and thorough development and revival.
Therefore, this presentation has come in an attempt to highlight the educational efforts which the Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars undertook, the role which it played in respect to the development of the Algerian society during a particular stage of Algerian history and how these efforts contributed to the building of this society and preparing it for the battlefield of freedom and independence
