The Incident of the evacuation of some Christians of the Iberian Peninsula to Morocco in 520 H/1126 AD: Clash or coexistence? This article deals with the deportation of some Christians from Al-Andalus to Morocco in the year 1126 (at the Almoravid time). More specifically, it describes the ambiguity of this incident in terms of its exact date, the places from where those Christians were expelled, and the Moroccan cities that hosted them. The paper also investigates the causes of this incident based on ancient Arabic sources on the subject and some European accounts that exaggerated this forced displacement, giving it dimensions quite incompatible with its economic and legal dimensions. The paper then concludes that this incident was not so much a testimony of Ibero-Moroccan tensions as a historic opportunity for the coexistence and creation of cultural partnership between Muslims and Christians in Morocco (Ibrahim Kadiri Boutchich). \
