أجريت هذه الدراسة بغرض دراسة أداء خمسة مجموعات من نوع الدجاج البلدي الكبير ظروف بيئية محسنة نوعياً. تمت دراسة خمسة مجموعات مقسمة حسب لون الريش (أسود، احمر، اصفر، متعدد الألوان ومنقط) تم الحصول عليها من ثلاثة فقسات متتالية يفصل بين كل منها أسبوع, خلصت ال نتائج إلى أن هنالك فروقات معنوية بين المجموعات في وزن الجسم ومعدل استهلاك الغذاء عند النضج الجنسي بالرغم من انه لم يكن هنالك فرق معنوي في وقت الوصول للنضج الجنسي نسبة الخصوبة (%) ونسبة الفقس(%) أيضاً لم تكن هنالك فروق معنوية بين المجموعات في بقية الصفات التي تمت دراستها (القلش الأول(يوم)،طول دورة الانتاج الأولى، الوزن عند الفقس ومعدل الموت المتأخر).
This study was conducted under relatively improved environmental conditions at Sinnar area to compare the reproductive and living performances of five varieties of Sudanese Large Baladi fowl. A number of progenies were obtained from a parental stock for three consecutive hatches at weekly period interval. The hatched chicks were brooded under similar managerial practices and then distributed according to their plumage color into five varieties namely: (Black (B), Red (R), Yellow (Y), Variegated (V) and Spotted (S)). Each variety was replicated thrice and hence the replicate groups were confined at random to experimental pens within an open sided poultry house. Data analysis was done using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The results indicated that the Black color variety reached sexual maturity age earlier than others with an average age of 151.67 days. The fertility and hatchability percentages revealed significant differences among the varieties that ranged from 50.30 to 80.72% and 34.50 to 60.20%, respectively .While the Black variety recorded the best fertility and hatchability performance, the spotted variety proved to be the poorest. The age at first molt was not significantly different (P>0.05), the averages ranged were 191.67 to 211.50 day. The mortality rate between groups was not significantly different (P>0.05). In conclusion, the Black color group generally performed better than others.
