المستخلص: هدف البحث إلى التعرف على اتجاهات وسائل الاتصال الحديثة وأثرها في الحياة الاجتماعية، من خلال التطور النظري والتطبيقي في حقل الاتصال، ومن خلال التوصل إلى حقيقة العلاقة بين تطور تكنولوجيا الاتصال وظهور المجتمعات الحديثة بكل أبعادها الإنسانية، والإعلام بمختلف مسمياته، يستهدف الإنسان فكرا وثقافة وعقيدة وسلوكاً لهذا يدرس الإعلاميون بيئة الإنسان قبل أن يخاطبوه حتى إذا صيغت الرسالة الاتصالية أصابت هدفها وحققت أثرها المخطط لها أن تحدثه في المجتمع. وقد استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي أنسب المناهج لمادة الإعلام بمختلف مسمياتها. إن تقنية المعلومات عندما نتقارب مع تكنولوجيا الاتصال تتحول لتصبح (تقنية المعلومات الاتصالية) وهو تزاوج قاد الإنسانية باتجاه عصر جديد هو عصر (الاتصال الحاسوبي) الذي قاد بدوره إلى التقارب بين الأهداف التكنولوجية والأنشطة العلمية في المؤسسات التي بدأت استخدام المعارف لإنتاج العلم الذي نمت به مؤسسات ومصانع ومصارف ذات قدرات عالية في العالم، واستخدام تكنولوجيا الاتصال بفاعلية أصبح يؤدي دوراً مفتاحياً في الحياة الاجتماعية.

The research aimed at identifying the trends of modem media and their impact in social life; through theoretical and practical development in the field of communication, and by reaching the fact of the relationship between the development of communication technology and the emergence of modem societies with all its humanitarian dimensions. The media in their diverse names, targeting man through his culture, belief and behavior. For this reason media professionals study human environment" prior to addressing him so that when the message is composed it reaches its goal and fulfills the planned purpose it supposed to play in the society. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method which is the most appropriate method for studying the media in different fields. When the information technology converges with communication technology it is transformed into communication of information technology. This transformation led humanity towards a new era, the era computer communication, which led to the convergence of technological goals and scientific activities in the institutions that start to employ the knowledge in producing the science by means of which institutions, factories and banks of high capacities are developed in the world. The effective use of communication technology plays a key role in social life .
