|a تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إلقاء ضوء على أهمية كتاب "تاريخ بغداد" للخطيب البغدادي في التعريف بالمصنفات التاريخية التي ألفها علماء بغداد والذين وفدوا إليها ما بين (149-463هــ/766-1070م). أي من السنة التي أصبحت فيها بغداد عاصمة لدولة الخلافة العباسية، إلى سنة وفاة الخطيب البغدادي؛ مؤلف الكتاب وهو المصدر الرئيس في هذه الدراسة. تضمن البحث نبذة للتعريف بالخطيب البغدادي، وكتابه "تاريخ بغداد"، مع تمهيد يخدم الموضوع، ثم التعريف بأشهر المصنفات التاريخية ومصنفيها، بحيث وزعت حسب حقول الكتابة التاريخية المتعارف عليها عند المسلمين. وفي نهاية الدراسة، وضع الباحث خاتمة ضمنها النتائج العلمية التي انتهت إليها.

|b This paper sheds light on the importance of al-Khateeb al- Baghdadi's book The History of Baghdad in introducing the history works that were written and narrated by the scholars of Bagdad in the period 149-463 ah/766-1070 ad. This period started with the year when Baghdad became the capital city of the Abbasid State and ended with the year when al-Khateeb al- Bagdadi, the author of the book and the main source of the study died. The study includes a brief biography of al-Khateeb al- Bagdadi and a survey of his book The History of Baghdad. It also investigates the history works under study, their authors and their classification according to the historical fields known among Muslim scholars. The paper concludes with the results of the study
