ازدهر البحث في صناعة المعاجم خلال العقود الماضية، وفي الوقت نفسه، ازدهرت صناعة المعاجم المتخصصة نتيجة جهد تعاوني بين المعجميين والمختصين في الحقول العلمية كافة. ومع كل ذلك، تظل صناعة المعاجم في العالم العربي غير متطورة مقارنة مع مثيلاتها في الثقافات الأخرى. إن كثيرا من المعاجم العربية المتخصصة ما هي إلا ترجمات لمعاجم متخصصة في لغات أجنبية؛ لذا تبدو الحاجة ماسة إلى جهود تعاونية بين المعجميين وأهل الاختصاص في تلك الحقول لتطوير معاجم آلية متخصصة. ويهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة وتحليل آخر ما توصلت إليه صناعة المعاجم المتخصصة التي تلبي حاجة المختصين والمستخدمين، ويبين سبل توظيف التقنيات الآلية في هذا المجال. وينتهي البحث إلى ضرورة توظيف قواعد البيانات الآلية وتبني المنهج التفاعلي الذي يسخر تقنية المعلومات لخدمة اللغة، مع مراعاة الحفاظ على اللغة الفصحى ونجنب الأخطاء اللغوية والعلمية، وتسخير التراث اللغوي لخدمة العلمية المعاصرة.
Research on lexicography has increased rapidly during the past decades. At the same time, specialized dictionaries have flourished as a result of cooperative effort from lexicographers and discipline specialists. However, dictionary production in the Arab world is still inadequate when compared with that in other cultures. Most of the Arabic specialized dictionaries are mere translations of their counterparts in other languages. There is, therefore, a strong demand for a collaborative effort from lexicographers and discipline specialists to build up specialized and electronic dictionaries, making use of the latest research on lexicography and benefiting of what has been produced in other languages in this domain. This paper aims to investigate the latest lexicographic research on specialized dictionaries and the means through which we can develop these dictionaries in order to fulfill the diverse needs of both specialists and users. The study requires making use of all means, especially, electronic databases so as to adopt an "interactive" approach which utilizes information technology, taking into account maintain the need to "Classical Arabic" and to avoid linguistic and scientific errors, while also preserving the linguistic traditions in order to serve modem sciences.
