|b The study aims at analyzing the systematic aspect of academic theses (MA and Ph.D.) granted during the period of (2005-2014) in the Department of Sociology of Damascus University by evaluating the problems tackled in the research and the degree of mastering its formulation in addition to examining the theoretical frameworks and approaches underlying these problems. It also measures the degree of selecting the appropriate methods and techniques for data collection as well as the presentation and analysis of the results. To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher followed a descriptive analytical approach that is appropriate to the nature of the current study, being an evaluation study, and useful to achieve its objectives. A content-analysis tool was adopted for the analysis of the content of the academic theses, and the unit of analysis in this study was the academic thesis (MA and Ph.D.). The researcher conducted a comprehensive survey of all the theses available in the Higher Studies Library at the Department of Sociology of the University of Damascus, which reached a total of (123) Master and Doctorate theses. The study concluded the following: 1- Most Master’s and Ph.D. theses lack the solid principles of sociological research and its basic rules. 2- Dominance of field studies, that are interested in current and partial issues, away from the theoretical subjects. 3- Excessive reliance on quantitative techniques for data collection, particularly the questionnaire. 4- Lack of harmony between the theoretical and field frameworks.

|a حددت أهداف الدراسة بتحليل الجانب المنهجي للرسائل العلمية (ماجستير ودكتوراه) الممنوحة خلال الفترة الممتدة بين (2005و2014) في جماعة دمشق – قسم علم الاجتماع، من خلال تقويم الإشكاليات المطروحة للبحث ودرجة التحكم في صياغتها، إضافة ألي معاينة الأطر والمقاربات النظرية التي تندرج ضمنها الإشكاليات، ومدى اختيار المناهج والتقنيات المناسبة في جميع المعلومات، إضافة إلى عرض النتائج وتحليلها. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة اتبع الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي الذي يعد مناسبا لطبيعة الدراسة الحالية كونها دراسة تقويمية، ويفيد في تحقيق أهداف الدراسة، واعتمدت أداة تحليل المضمون لتحليل محتوي الرسائل العلمية، ووحدة التحليل في هذه الدراسة هي الرسالة العلمية. وقام الباحث بمسح شامل لجميع الرسائل المتوافرة في مكتبة الدراسات العليا في قسم علم الاجتماع بجامعة دمشق، وقد بلغت (123) رسالة ماجستير ودكتوراه. توصلت الدراسة ألي مجموعة من النتائج الأتية، هي: 1 – الضعف العام الذي تعانيه معظم رسائل الماجستير والدكتوراه من مبادئ البحث السوسيولوجي وقواعده. 2-سيطرة الدراسات الميدانية، التي تهتم بالموضوعات الآنية والجزئية، بعيدا عن الموضوعات النظرية 3- الاعتماد المفرط علي التقنيات الكمية لجمع المعلومات وخاصة الاستبانة 4- انعدام الانسجام بين الإطار النظري والإطار الميداني.
