African Indigenous Medicine largely remains the dominant healing system among large segments of the populations in different regions of Africa particularly in rural areas. Indeed, it is often regarded as the more appropriate mode of treatment by traditional specialists and recipients. The treatments include spiritual healing, ceremonial rituals and medical prescriptions (mainly based on organic materials). This paper focuses on the results of some of the scientific analysis of one of those inorganic substances, namely clay and its utilization, as an indigenous remedy for several syndromes as well as for beautification purposes. The preliminary results obtained so far bear a definite research potential and could very well lead to breaking new scientific grounds, hence substantiate the ingenuity of African indigenous clay remedies. Therefore, more samples were collected during the wet season according to the standard sampling procedure in order to secure an uncontaminated and probably richer presence of bacteria populations. We hope that the biological and chemical analyses of the samples will provide richer and diverse results and hence, obtain new and adequate information which furnish us with the scientific evidence that substantiate the effectiveness of this type of traditional medical practices.
