المستخلص: تنظر مراجعة الأدبيات الغربية والإسرائيلية حول حركة حماس في عدد من الكتب تأليف أكاديميين غربيين وإسرائيليين في العقد المنصرم. هي لا تستكشف سوى الظاهر رغم وجود الكثير في الباطن، ولكنه مجرد عينة تبين انتشار المؤلفات حول حركة لم تظهر إلى الوجود إلا في العقدين الأخيرين.
تتعاظم أهمية الحركة في الضمير الوطني الفلسطيني استنادا إلى هذه الكتب. وتستمر الكتب في بيان ذلك من عدة زوايا. فبالرغم من التأكيد على وصف حماس بالإرهابية والعنيفة في بعضها، فهي تشدد على دورها لاعبا في السياسة الدولية.
وفي بعض الأحيان تدرس هذه الكتب حركة حماس دراسة مقارنة مقابل منظمات "أصولية" أخرى مثل منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية وحزب الله وحركة أمل والقاعدة بهدف إدراك طبيعتها وسر بقاء تماسكها ومواردها وأهدافها ووجودها حركة مقاتلة تسعى إلى السلطة، إلى جانب الدعم الشعبي.
وقد تزايد الاهتمام بالحركة عام 2016 بصدور 4 كتب تتحدث عن الحركة روجعت في هذا العدد. ومن الممكن الحصول على المزيد لو جرى بجث أعمق وبلغات مختلفة.
تركز هذه الكتب على الجانب المالي للحركة، من ناحية حصولها على الأموال ومحاولة الحكومات الغربية وقف هذه القنوات. وكذلك تنظر بعض المؤلفات إلى الحركة من زاوية الإرهاب رغم تشكيلها للحكومة، بينما يعاد تعريف الإرهاب في القرن الحادي والعشرين من خلال دراسة أهدافها الفكرية والسياسية والعسكرية.
ومن المتوقع للحركة أن تستمر نظرا لطريقة تعاملها مع قضايا مهمة مثل الإعلام والاتصال والعلاقات العامة.
يتحدث اثنان من هذه الكتب عن سعي حماس لغزو العالم وعدائها للسامية، ويحاول المؤلفان الإسرائيليان فيهما التلاعب بالعامل الوطني الفلسطيني، وتحاول كتب أخرى إظهار إسرائيل بأنها الضحية البريئة عن طريق الوسائل القانونية. ويتحدث بعها عن الدعم الشعبي الذي حازت عليه حماس من خلال تنمية المجتمع والانخراط في القطاع الاجتماعي الدعوي بتقديم الخدمات الاجتماعية والإصلاح المدني وطرق مساهمة المؤسسات الاجتماعية الإسلامية في قطاع غزة والضفة الغربية في بناء مسار معتدل نحو الاستقرار ونظام القيم.


Reviews of Western and Israeli literature on Hamas are seen in a number of books written by Western and Israeli academics in the past decade. They only explore the outside of the movement, while there is much in the inside. However, it's just a sample showing the spread of literature on a movement that came into the forefront only in the last two decades.
Based on these books, the movement is increasingly important in the Palestinian national conscience. Books continue to show this from several angles. While asserting the characterization of Hamas as a terrorist and violent organization in some of them, they emphasize its role as a player in international politics.
These books sometimes study Hamas comparatively with other "fundamentalist" organizations such as the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hezbollah, Amal and Al-Qaeda in order to understand its nature and the secret of its cohesion, resources and objectives and its existence, a militant movement seeking power, as well as popular support.
The interest in Hamas increased in 2016 due to the publication of four books on the movement. The books are reviewed in this issue. More could be accessed if deeper research is conducted in different languages.
The books focus on the financial aspect of the movement, such as access to funds and the attempt of Western governments to stop these financing channels. Some books also view the movement from the terrorism angle despite it forming a government. Terrorism is redefined in the twenty-first century by studying its intellectual, political, and military objectives.
The movement is expected to continue given the way it deals with important issues such as media, communication, and public relations.
Two of these books talk about Hamas's quest to conquer the world and its hostility to Semitics. The Israeli authors try to manipulate the Palestinian national factor, and other books attempt to show Israel as an innocent victim through legal means. Some books speak of the popular support Hamas has gained through community development, engagement in the social sector, advocacy of social services, civil reform, and ways in which Islamic social institutions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank contribute to building a moderate path towards stability and the value-based system.
