المستخلص: This research presents a geographical analysis of the movement of tourists in Africa, which is witnessing an exponential growth in the number of tourists which increased from 0.5 million tourists (or 0.2% of all tourists in the world) in 1950 to 55.7 million tourists (or 4.9% of all tourists in the world) in 2015. The number is expected to reach 85 million tourists (or 6.3% of all tourists in the world) in 2020. Tourism in Africa contributes significantly to the GDP and provides job opportunities. Income from the tourism sector increased from $7.2 billion in 1980 to $50.3 billion in 2010, and is expected to reach $85 billion in 2020. The geographical distribution of tourists in Africa's regions varies. North Africa comes first, averaging about 42.1% between 1990 and 2010, and South Africa comes second with about 24.7% of tourists during the same period, followed by East Africa with about 21.6% of tourists. Only a small number of tourists visit West Africa and Central Africa. There is no change in the first ten countries, which are located mostly in North Africa, but their ranks changed because of economic and political conditions. For example, Egypt, ranked first in 2010, with about 22% of tourists, dropped in 2014 to the third place after Morocco and South Africa. Air transportation is the first tourist transportation, and its role is expected to increase in the future. Leisure tourism is most attractive to tourists in the continent and accounts for nearly 50% of all tourists. Tourism in the continent is expected to grow significantly, and this study presents recommendations to further increase the tourist movement in the continent
