Since the Palestinian authority took over power in May 1994 it has been exerting developmental efforts in order to minimize the deteriorating economic conditions resulting from the years of occupation. Doing this, the Palestinian autority aimed at establishing an independent state based on a strong economy according to “OSLO Agreement” 1993 that determined a transitional period for the Palestinian autonomy from 1994 - 1999. Yet, the Palestinian authority was not able to achieve this goal because Israel was not serious in complying with the terms of “OSLO Agreement”, in addition to the poor performance of the Palestinian authority in managing economic development process, and finally because of some external variables, which altogether led to extending the transitional period until the break out of “Al AKSA Intifada” this in term led to more suffering for the Palestinian people who survive under occupation conditions.
This research aims at analyzing and determining the economic effects represented by the poor performance of the Palestinian economy resulting from the Israeli operations.
