|b This study examined the historical roots of Halayib conflict taking into consideration the uniqueness of the relationship between Sudan and Egypt that has started from the common history, eternal neighborhood, Nile ligament, religion and language. The importance of this study stems from the fact that it dealt with a vital issue affecting the sovereignty and the national territory of Sudan because of the border dispute which created a sense of distrust that reflected negatively on the relations between the two countries in all spheres. The researcher adopted the historical descriptive and analytical methodology in explaining the divergent views on the border conflict. The study recommended the need to resolve the border issue of Halayib decisively and permanantly and the promotion of mutual cooperation in all fields، so that peace, stability and interests of the two peoples can be realized.

|a تناولت هذه الدراسة قضية حلايب في جذورها التاريخية باعتبار أن خصوصية العلاقة بين السودان ومصر انطلقت من التاريخ المشترك والجوار الأزلي ورباط النيل والدين واللغة. تأتي أهمية هذه الدراسة في أنها تناولت قضية حيوية تمس السيادة والتراب الوطني السوداني بسبب النزاع الحدودي الذي خلق شعورا بعدم الثقة انعكس بدوره سلبا علي علاقات البلدين في كافة المجالات. اتبع الباحث منهج البحث التاريخي الوصفي والتحليلي في شرح المواقف المتباينة حول الصراع الحدودي. أوصت الدراسة بضرورة حسم قضية الحدود في حلايب بشكل نهائي ودائم وتعزيز التعاون المشترك في كافة المجالات حتى يشيع السلام والاستقرار وتتحقق الفائدة للشعبين.
