تعد خزانة الآدب من أهم الكتب التي تعرضت للشواهد النحوية بشكل مفصل، فقد ساق مؤلفها لشواهده كثيرا من آراء علماء العربية القدماء، وكان من بينهم المبرد، آخر علماء المدرسة البصرية الذي أسهم بكتبه في إثراء المكتبة العربية، والفكر والدرس اللغويين، وتشهد مؤلفاته على سعة علمه وتنوع ثقافته، فقد كتب كتبا في مختلف علوم العربية اشتهر منها اثنان، الأول: (الكامل في اللغة والأدب) والثاني: (المقتضب). وقد كانا محور اهتمام كثير ممن جاؤوا بعده، منهم البغدادي الذي استشهد بآرائه في كتابه (الخزانة)، فكان يأتي برأيه، ويقارن مع غيره من العلماء، من هنا جاء هذا البحث الموسوم بـ (آراء المبرد النحوية في كتاب خزانة الأدب للبغدادي) ليلقي الضوء على مختلف آراء المبرد النحوية في الخزانة، مع توضيح لمذهبه كأحد علماء المدرسة البصرية. إضافة إلى مقارنة مذهبه ببعض المذاهب النحوية الأخرى التي ساقها البغدادي في كتابه. ولمعرفة أهمية شواهد المبرد التي ساقها البغدادي في توجيه آرائه وترجيحها على غيرها.
