|a على الرغم من مرور خمسين عاما على حرب حزيران/يونيو 1967، فإن الغموض لا يزال يحيط بكثير من تفصيلاتها، وما زلنا نجهل معلومات أساسية عنها. فالجيش المصري لم يفرج عما في حيازته من وثائق عن الحرب، والروايات المتداولة عن هذه الهزيمة المروعة لا تعتمد على وثائق رسمية. تتناول هذه المقالة لحظة مفصلية في مجريات الحرب على الجبهة المصرية، أي لحظة إصدار المشير عبد الحكيم عامر، القائد العام للجيش المصري، قرار الانسحاب، كما تحلل الروايات الشائعة عن هذا القرار المصيري كي توضح كيف أدى غياب الوثائق الرسمية إلى تضارب ولبس في هذه الروايات حتى بعد مرور نصف قرن على تلك الأحداث المشؤومة. وتختتم المقالة بطرح بعض التساؤلات عن المعنى السياسي لغياب الوثائق الرسمية وحجبها عن الشعب.

|f Although fifty years have elapsed since the June (1967) war, much of its details are still unambiguous, and we still do not know basic information about them. The Egyptian army has not released the documents in its possession about the war, and the circulating narratives of this horrific defeat do not rely on official documents. This article deals with a pivotal moment in the course of the war on the Egyptian front, i.e., when Field Marshal Abdel Hakim Amer, the commander-in-chief of the Egyptian army, issued the decision to withdraw. It also analyzes the popular accounts of this fateful decision to clarify how the absence of official documents led to conflict and confusion in these accounts even half a century after those catastrophic events. The article concludes by asking some questions about the political meaning of the absence of official documents and their withholding from the people.
