|a أخذت المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية بنظام الإدارة المحلية منذ تأسيسها. ومن هذا المنطلق فإن الدراسة تسعى إلى تحليل الانتخابات البلدية من منظور جغرافي، وذلك وفق الضوابط المكانية والبشرية، التي تركت أثرا على مستوى خريطة الدوائر البلدية وتوزيعها في المملكة. \ وتسلط الدراسة الضوء على الانتخابات البلدية لعام 2013، كاشفة التحديات الأبرز للحكم المحلي والنظام البلدي في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، وتعرض الدراسة للتوزيع المكاني للدوائر الانتخابية، وخصائصها وخصائص الناخبين والمرشحين. وقد أنتج عدد من الخرائط الخاصة بالدراسة باستخدام برنامج 10.2 Arc \

|b The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has adopted the Local Government Model since its estblishment, and accordingly, the current study aims to analyze the municipal elections from a geographic perspective according to the prominent spatial and demographic constraints that left an imprint on the map of municipal departments and their distribution across the kingdom. The current study sheds light on the 2013 municipal elections and pinpoints the main challenges facing local governments and the municipal system in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The study also surveys the spatial distributions of constituencies, their characteristics, and the characteristics of voters and candidates. All relevant maps were produced using the GIS program. The study came out with several findings, most important ofwhich, aretheincreasing awareness of the importance of munici¬pal administration (government), the growingpublic participation and involvement in elections both in terms ofcandidacy and of casting votes, andthe lack of justice in administrative divisions and distribution ofseats and municipal districts. It alsosheds light on the municipal electoral experience which reinforcesdecentralization in local government.
