استهدف المقال تقديم البيان الختامي والتوصيات للمؤتمر 27 للاتحاد العربي للمكتبات والمعلومات بعنوان الثقافة المعلوماتية في مجتمع المعرفة العربي في ضوء تحديات الواقع ورهانات المستقبل. وتم مناقشة 65 ورقة علمية من إجمالي 86 ورقة علمية. وقد ناقشت الأوراق العلمية على مدار ثلاثة أيام موزعة على 16 جلسة علمية بالإضافة إلى جلسة عامة واحدة. وقد أوصي المشاركون في المؤتمر بضرورة تبني معيار الوعي المعلوماتي الذي اصدره الاتحاد العربي للمكتبات والمعلومات للعمل به في كافة المؤسسات المعنية بالمعلومات. وتبني برامج وطنية للثقافة المعلوماتية باعتباره من أهم مقومات مجتمع المعرفة. ضرورة وضع مقررات عن مهارات المعلومات ضمن برامج التعليم ما قبل الجامعي والتعليم الجامعي. وأيضا جعل مهارات الثقافة المعلوماتية ضمن متطلبات الحصول علي الجودة والاعتماد للمؤسسات التعليمية والبحثية والأكاديمية. واهتمام المكتبات بوضع وتنفيذ برامج الثقافة المعلوماتية وفقا لأحدث النظم لرفع كفاءة المستفيدين منها. والتوجيه بإعداد دليل ارشادي عربي لبرامج الثقافة المعلوماتية.كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The article aimed at presenting the final statement and recommendations of the 27th Conference of the Arab Union for Libraries and Information entitled Information Culture in the Arab Knowledge Society in the light of the challenges of reality and future challenges. Sixty-five scientific papers out of eighty-six scientific papers were discussed. The papers were discussed over three days distributed in sixteen scientific sessions in addition to one plenary session. The participants of the conference recommended the adoption of the standard of information awareness issued by the Arab Federation of Libraries and Information to be applied in all institutions concerned with information. It also recommended the adoption of national programs for information culture because of being one of the most important elements of the knowledge society. In addition, it suggested setting curricula about information skills within pre-university education and university education programs. In addition to integrating the skills of information culture within the requirements of quality and accreditation for educational, research and academic institutions, it pointed out that libraries should pay attention to the development and applying the information technology programs according to the latest systems to raise the efficiency of beneficiaries.
