استهدف المقال تقديم رثاء عن حشمت محمد علي قاسم. فكان الأستاذ والسند للعديد من المتخصصين في مجال المكتبات والمعلومات لما تميز به الفقيد العزيز من علم واسع ومعرفة عميقة، عالم من افذاذ العلماء ومن كبار المؤلفين. ومسيرته حافلة بالنجاحات وبالإنجازات والمبادرات. وكان رجل اجماع ومحل تقدير من الجميع رحل في صمت لكنه ترك وراءه أثرا غير مندثر وذكرى لرجل كرس حياته للعلم والتعليم ولم يطلب يوما ردا للجميل. امضي حياته في العطاء وأغنى علم المكتبات في بلاد العرب بمؤلفاته الثمينة. حتى يمكن القول بانه أعمدة الكتاب الباحثين في التخصص على مستوي الوطن العربي. وساهم في دفع حركة التقدم والتطور في تخصص المكتبات والمعلومات. لتميزه بالجدية في العمل الأكاديمي والدقة في البحث. وكذلك التنظيم في العمل الإداري واتجاهه إلى النقد البناء الهادف.كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The article aimed to present a lament for Hishmat Mohammed Ali Kassem. He was the professor and supporter for many specialists in the fields of libraries and information because the dear departed was distinguished by vast and deep knowledge. He was also one of the unique scholars and senior authors. His career is full of successes, achievements and initiatives. He was a man of consensus and appreciation of everyone, he left in silence, but he left behind unextinguished literatures and remembrance of a man who dedicated his life to science and education without asking to return the favor one day. He spent his life giving and enriching the science of libraries in the Arab countries with his precious works. Thus, it can be said that he is one of the unique book researchers in specialization at the level of the Arab world.
