المستخلص: التوتر النفسي هو تغيير في مستوي الدوافع ارتفاعا وانخفاضا وكلاهما يؤديان إلى حدوث القلق الذي يسبب تعطيل في الأداء العلمي ويحدث شعور بالانقباض واضطراب في التوازن والتهئ لتغيير السلوك لمواجهة عوامل التهديد. وتعد ظاهرة التوتر من أكثر الظواهر النفسية انتشارا وشمولها جميع فئات المجتمع وأثرت بشكل سلبي على مجمل الأداء العام للمجتمعات الإنسانية. وقد افترضت الباحثة إن فئة الطلبة المتميزين هم أكثر عرضة التأثر بهذه الظاهرة كونهم أعدوا أنفسهم لتقديم أقصى أداء علمي كونهم يمتلكون مستويات قياسية في الذكاء والطموح والاندفاع والاستعداد للتميز أكثر من غيرهم. وقد تم اختيار عينة مناسبة من الطلبة المتميزين في محافظة بغداد من الصفوف المتقدمة في مدارس المتميزين وطبق عليهم مقياس التوتر النفسي الذي أعدته (التكريتي) بعد إجراء بعض التعديلات عليه والتحقق من الخصائص السايكومترية. وقد أظهرت نتائج البحث ارتفاع مستوي التوتر النفسي لدي عموم الطلبة. مع وجود فروق ذات دلالة معنوية بين فئة الطلاب والطالبات ولصالح الطلاب. وانخفاض مستوي التوتر للطالبات. وظهور ارتفاع في درجات التوتر النفسي لدي طلبة الصف السادس مقارنتا مع طلبة الصف الأول وبدلالة إحصائية. وتم وضع عدد من التوصيات والمقترحات الإجرائية من أجل إكمال فائدة البحث والاستفادة منها من قبل العاملين مع الطلبة المتميزين في البلدان العربية.

Psychological tension is a change in the level of motivations up and down and both them lead to happening the worry which cause malfunction in scientific performance and makes restriction and disorder in the balance and preparing to change the behavior to face the factors of threats. Tension phenomenon is considered one of the most prevalent psychological phenomena including all kinds of society and it affected negatively onto the total general performance for human communities. The researcher has supposed that the category of distinctive students are greatly influenced by this phenomenon because they prepare themselves to present a higher scientific performance for having high levels of intelligence، ambition، motivation and to get ready for distinction more than others. A suitable sample of distinctive students has been chosen in Baghdad province of advanced classes in the schools of distinctive students and the criterion of psychological tension prepared by (Al-Tikriti) has been applied on them after doing some modifications and verifying Seiko-metical features. The results of the research have down a raising in psychological tension for whole students، with existing differences of moral indication between male and female students and it was for benefit of males and decreasing the level of tension for female students. And appearing a high level in psychological tension for sixth class students as compared with first class with statistic indication. A number of recommendation and procedural suggestions have put to complete the advantage of the research and make sure of it from employees with distinctive students in Arab countries.
