"Ibn Al-Rumi was known for his pessimistic character in the literature amongst the poets of his time. This had distorted his image and many writers have transcended that particular perception of him across generations. No one took an objective stand to analyze his poetic side from one hand and band his conduct with others from the other hand. Therefore, lies and accusations accumulated against this personality to the point where he was described in the literature as an individual with mental illnesses and of hateful behavior, without the slightest feeling of guilt from the writer on the lies they hand written. The question is, was Ibn Al-Rumi actually as described? Throughout our study of Ibn Al-Rumi, his life and the literature written about him by previous and contemporary writers, we found various statements with unknown objectives. We also found incorrect narrations that have been transmitted without sufficient evidence. Therefore, our study is to reveal the truth about this personality that had suffered much throughout his life. The outcome of our study about this poet revolved around the time of Ibn Al-Rumi, his first developmental stages, education, adulthood and who had inspired him throughout. We have come to realize that the poet belongs to the school of the Ahlul-Bayt (pbut). Hence, it seems natural to witness such accumulated hate towards him as he was a man of principle and strong faith. During the time of the Abbasids who were not too happy with his value 50 the majority of the poets of that time were the post of court and drinking and playing with rulers did this was the thing which Rumi did not like."
