The study deals with spatial analysis of the site Misrata International Airport to learn about the geography and planning standards affecting his choice, and has aspects of the study using Google Earth pro program where he addressed the search of Misrata airport in terms of origination and development of traffic, geographic planning and the factors influencing it in terms of the topography of the area, and land uses around the airport, and scalability, and distance from the city center and the impact on future planning, in addition to climate and environmental factors influencing the choice of location, have study results indicated that the location of Misrata airport currently is not suitable for the performance of the functionality that was prepared for it, because of the great proximity to the city center and that the urban sprawl of the axes of the city and its extension towards the airport area pose a threat to take-off and landing operations, and .limit any future expansion
تتناول الدراسة التحليل المكاني لموقع مطار مصراته الدولي للتعرف على المعايير الجغرافية والتخطيطية المؤثرة في اختياره، وقد تمت جوانب الدراسة باستخدام برنامج Google Earth Pro حيث تناول البحث مطار مصراته من حيث النشأة وتطور حركة النقل، والعوامل الجغرافية والتخطيطية المؤثرة فيه من حيث طبوغرافية المنطقة، واستخدامات الارض حول المطار، وقابلية التوسع، والبعد عن مركز المدينة والاثر على تخطيطها المستقبلي، اضافة للعوامل المناخية والبيئية المؤثرة في اختيار موقعه، وقد اشارت نتائج الدراسة ان موقع مطار مصراته حاليا غير مناسب لأداء الوظيفة التي اعد من اجلها، بسبب قربه الكبير من مركز المدينة وان منطقة الزحف العمراني لمحاور المدينة وامتدادها باتجاه المطار تشكل خطرا على عمليات الاقلاع والهبوط، ويحد من أي توسع مستقبلي
