المستخلص: Terrorism is currently one of the world’s irritating concerns. The well-known deviant groups and factions have dedicated themselves to spreading mischief and insecurities through suicide bombings and assassinations under the claimed umbrella of Jihad. Nevertheless, the difference between proper Jihad and terrorism is evidently clear. Terrorism is the outcome of the misunderstood concepts about Jihad. The extremist and terrorist groups have misinterpreted the primary texts relating to Jihad and commit such heinous actions in the name of Islam based on their crooked thinking. The real meaning of Jihad as revealed in Islam does not involve the suicide bombings against innocent people, killing non-Muslims, killing or attacking ambassadors, taking hostages etc. Rather, Jihad represents a noble meaning in Islam that is mainly preemptive and defensive. This research paper presents the distinct differences between the proper Jihad and the corruption of terrorist groups to give a comprehensive true image of extremists’ ideologies and the sound teachings of Islam.
