The issue of conflict of interests is considered one of the important criteria’s for: The integrity of the legislative acts. The judicial administration of justice. This paper is trying to address the following: The definition of conflict of interests. The foundation of conflict of interests. International, constitutional and legal illustrations. Mitigation methods. 1. The Definition of conflict of interests: It can be defined as a situation in which someone in a position of trust, such as a lawyer, insurance adjuster, a politician, executive or director of a corporation or a medical research scientist or physician, has competing professional or personal interests. Such competing interests can make it difficult to fulfill his or her duties impartially. 2. The foundation of conflict of interests: This started at the time people decided to form groups and tribes to protect their interests. International, constitutional and legal illustrations: As for the international illustration the most common occurrence of conflict of interests is found in international treaties at which each country is trying to maximize it's gains and benefits on the expense if the other country. The Egyptian constitution addressed the issue of conflict of interest as it prohibits in article 95 the member of the parliament from entering into any kinds of agreement with the state. Same prohibition is applicable to the president and the ministers pursuant to articles 86 and 158 respectively. Different Egyptian laws address the same issue such the civil law, the biding law, the commercial law and civil litigation procedures law.
