المستخلص: Tunisia was the principle rear base for the support of the Algerian revolution; its support took many forms (money, supplies, and weapons). The financial support provided by Tunisia to the Algerian revolution comes from a collection of funds in the form of taxes, deductions in the salaries of civil servants, etc. This support also included medicines, food, clothing, etc. Militarily, Tunisia facilitated the circulation of weapons (in terms of smuggling) especially from Egypt. Tunisia also set up the Tunisian National Guard’s barracks at the disposal of the and the Front deliberation nationale algerien, in addition to the participation of Tunisians in the Algerian war. To cut short the Tunisian-Algerian solidarity, the French colonial authorities took several measures: the installation of an electric barbed wire fence the length of the border between Algeria and Tunisia, the intensification of border controls, military attacks within the border zone, with holding financial and economic aid, and threatened the reoccupation of Tunisia if it continued to support the Algerian Revolution.
