|f The library is considered to be a cultural and social institution that exists in a particular society aiming to serve it, increase its culture and raise its academic achievements. Libraries play an important role in respect to disseminating the culture and knowledge among the readers. It represents a huge accumulation of knowledge and information, which researchers and scholars explore the depths of and take from it that which satisfies their interest, raises their cultural curiosity and accomplishes their academic status. Libraries are stations on the path of knowledge, centers of radiation, beacons of knowledge and floors of wisdom which lead man to explore the historical and scientific truths and cultural and civilizational features of past and contemporary nations. \nThis article seeks to clarify what the Arab libraries in Nigeria enjoy in terms of a great concern and sustained material and moral support from the means which were used to spread the Arab-Islamic culture and awareness among Muslims in Nigeria. The article also seeks to reflect upon their development in Nigeria; explaining their types and functions within the Nigerian society, in general and the Islamic society, in particular. Just as it also highlights the role of Muslim individuals in respect to setting up the library to disseminate Arab-Islamic culture and the factors which assisted the Arab Library to disseminate throughout the Islamic society in Nigeria.\nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc 2018.

|a تعتبر المكتبة مؤسسة ثقافية اجتماعية توجد في مجتمع من المجتمعات تهدف إلى خدمته وزيادة ثقافته وترقية حصيلته العلمية. وتؤدي المكتبات دورا مهما في نشر الثقافة والمعرفة لدى القارئ. فهي بمثابة مكمن ضخم من المعارف والمعلومات، يسبر أغواره الباحثون والدارسون و يعبون منه ما يشبع نهمهم ويثير فضولهم الثقافي ويحقق ضالتهم العلمية. إنها محطات على درب المعرفة، ومراكز إشعاع ومنارات علم ودور حكمة تقود الإنسان إلى استكشاف الحقائق التاريخية والعلمية والمعالم الحضارية والثقافية للأمم الغابرة والمعاصرة. \nتسعى هذه المقالة إلى توضيح ما تحظي المكتبات العربية في نيجيريا باهتمام كبير ودعم مادي ومعنوي مضطرد من الوسائل التي تم الاستعانة بها في نشر الثقافة العربية الإسلامية والوعي بين المسلمين في ديار نيجيريا مع إمعان النظر في تطورها في نيجيريا مبينا أنواعها ووظائفها في المجتمع النيجيري عامة والمجتمع الإسلامي منها على وجه خاص. كما تسلط الضوء عن دور أفراد من المسلمين في وضع المكتبة لنشر الثقافة العربية الإسلامية والعوامل التي ساعدت المكتبة العربية في النشر في أنحاء المجتمع الإسلامي في نيجيريا.\n
