المستخلص: L’exploration du Sahara africain et algérien est une étude brève et courte sur les étapes de cette découverte tout au long de l’Histoire jusqu’au 19e siècle, siècle ou les grandes puissances coloniales européennes ont entrepris leurs incursions et colonisation en Afrique afin de mieux connaitre le Sahara et contrôler son commerce.
C’est pourquoi cette étude s’est intéressée aux tentatives des Grecs et Carthaginois d’envahir le Sahara africain y compris le désert algérien pour bénéficier du commerce. L’étude a évoqué aussi les tentatives des Romains de prospecter le Sahara lorsqu’ils avaient dominé le nord-africain.
L’étude a également touché en détail les expédition effectuées par des voyageurs et géographies arabes, entre le 10e et 18e siècle et qui avaient traversé les déserts africain et algérien et décrit leurs sentiers, villes et tribus ainsi que leurs commerces. Enfin, cette étude a parlé de l’intérêt européen pour le Sahara africain à la fin du 18e siècle et de leurs envie d’étudier les oeuvres des voyageurs arabes, et leurs engagement et volonté de traverser les sentiers qui ils ont empruntés.
L’étude propose d’étudier les motifs de cet intérêt surtout chez les Britanniques et les Allemands.

The exploration of the African and Algerian Sahara is a brief and short study on the stages of this discovery throughout history until the 19th century, the century when the great European colonial powers undertook their incursions and colonization in Africa in order to better know the Sahara and control its trade.
This is why this study is interested in the attempts of the Greeks and Carthaginians to invade the African Sahara including the Algerian desert to profit from the trade. The study also touched on the Romans' attempts to explore the Sahara when they had dominated North Africa.
The study also covered in detail the expeditions carried out by Arab travelers and geographies, between the 10th and 18th century, who had crossed the African and Algerian deserts and described their paths, cities and tribes as well as their businesses. Finally, this study spoke of the European interest in the African Sahara at the end of the 18th century and their desire to study the works of Arab travelers, and their commitment and will to cross the paths which they borrowed.
The study proposes to investigate the reasons for this interest especially among the British and the Germans.
