المستخلص: We have previously seen that Sijilmasa the place/city, and the Sijilmasa the area/region have been dealt with by the sources through the description of geographers. It falls within its varying geographical meaning. While Yacobi, Ibn Hokl and Al-Maqdisi believe that it is the capital of a region located at the edge of the Al-Maghreb Al-Aqsa desert, Hassan El Wazzan believes that it is the name of the region itself, and may have been influenced by the first Muslims who call the regions with the names of their capitals. We also analyzed the roots of the name, which were the subject of controversy in some of the texts to which it referred. It is unlikely that it is of Arabic origin, but the reference to the fact that it is of Roman origin requires data to prove the authenticity of those who say that. It seems more relevant to the fact that the name is Amazighi, given the derivation of the term as we have pointed out, as well as the use of another synonym to denote the place is (Tafilalt), which is associated with the name of the residing Amazigh tribes. We addressed the issue of the establishment of Sjelmasa: on which opinions differed between those who think that Sjelmash is an ancient city dating back to the Roman era and opinions, which are mostly held as a new city in the Islamic era- which is the most correct in our estimation - was built in 14H (775 AD) when the Zero-Madrarians took the emirate and took it as their capital despite the different sources in the name of the founder, as we explained earlier.

قد رأينا فيما سبق أن سجلماسه المكان / المدينة ، وسجلماسة المجال / الإقليم ؛ قد تناولته المصادر من خلال وصف الجغرافيين ، وهو يندرج في إطار مدلولها الجغرافي المتباين ، ففي حين يرى اليعقوبي وابن حوقل والمقدسي أن مدلولها يكمن في كونها عاصمة إقليم يقع في طرف صحراء المغرب الأقصى، فإن الحسن الوزان يرى أنها اسم الإقليم نفسه، ولعله قد تأثر بالمسلمين الأوائل الذين يسمون الأقاليم بأسماء عواصمها. \ كما تناولنا بالتحليل جذور التسمية، التي كانت موضع جدل في بعض النصوص التي أشارت إليها ، إذ من المستبعد أن تكون عربية الأصول ، لكن الإشارة إلى أنها ذات أصل روماني تحتاج إلى معطيات تثبت صّحّة القائلين بذلك ، والأقرب إلى الحقيقة فيما يبدو أن التسمية أمازيغية الأصول نظراً لاشتقاق اللفظ كما أشرنا إلى ذلك ، فضلا عن استخدام مرادف آخر للدلالة على المكان وهو (تافيلات) الذي يرتبط باسم القبائل الأمازيغية القاطنة. \ وقد عالجنا من خلال البحث مسألة تأسيس سجلماسه: التي اختلفت حولها الآراء بين من يرى أن سجلماسه مدينة قديمة ترجع في قدمها إلى العصر الروماني وبين الآراء التي تجمع في معظمها على أنها مدينة مستحدثة في العصر الإسلامي- وهو الراجح في تقديرنا- بنيت عام 140هـ / 757م حين استقل المدراريون الصفرية بالإمارة واتخذوها عاصمة لهم ، رغم اختلاف تلك المصادر في اسم المؤسس كما أوضحنا ذلك سابقاً.
