المستخلص: يتناول هذا البحث خطاب الدكتور السديس من ناحية الجوانب الحجاجية في توظيف الاستعارة بوصفها أداة تفكير وبناء معرفي يؤثر في النص والمتلقي، وذلك في سبع خطب تناولت موضوعا واحدا من أهم الموضوعات المطروحة في الساحة الاجتماعية والسياسية؛ فهو موضوع يلقي بظلاله على العالم، إذ هو محرك سياسي في الداخل العربي والخارجي العالمي؛ إنه الإرهاب وما يرتبط به من مفاهيم مغلوطة وأفكار منحرفة. وسوف يتناول هذا البحث الاستعارة من خلال مباحث أربعة. المبحث الأول: مفهوم الحجاج. المبحث الثاني: الحجاج في البلاغة العربية. المبحث الثالث: الطاقة الإقناعية للاستعارة وأثر السياق في توظيفها. المبحث الرابع: الاستعارة الحجاجية وإنتاج الدلالة في خطب السديس. الخاتمة: الخلاصة والتوصيات. وقد خلص البحث إلى عدة أمور كان أهمها أن خطاب الدكتور السديس لم يكن خطابا إخباريا بقدر كونه خطابا تأثيريا تغييريا، وتبين أن الشيخ وظف الصورة البلاغية توظيفا حجاجيا مستغلا ما فيها من طاقة إقناعي. وبذلك تأكد لنا أن خطابه خطاب حجاجي إقناعي، يحمل طاقات فوق طاقات الكلام، ويحمل معاني ثانية، تؤدي إلى تغير موقف المتلقي، وتجعله كارها للخلاف محبا للإيلاف، مدركا أن سعادة الأمة ونهضتها يكون بوحدة الصف ووحدة الكلمة.

This research paper deals with the argumentative function of metaphor in Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais's Gomaa speeches (Friday Speeches) as a tool of thinking and a knowledge structure that affects the text itself and the recipients. It covers with analysis one of the most important issues in the social and political arena that casts its shadow over the world including the Arab World: it is terrorism with its interrelated misconceptions and deviant ideas. The concept of terrorism has been dealt with in seven speeches of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais. This paper tackles the metaphor in these speeches in five chapters: Chapter one: The Concept of Argumentative Function. Chapter Two: The Argument in Arabic Rhetoric. Chapter Three: The Persuasive Power of Metaphor and the Impact of the Context in its Employment. Chapter Four: Declarative Metaphor and Production of in the sermons of Al-Sudais. Conclusion & Recommendations The paper reached the conclusion that the speeches of Dr. Al-Sudais were not reportative in their main context but they were of a modulatory effect in the greatest part. It appeared that Al-Sudais employed the rhetorical image from an argumentative perspective based on his power of Persuasion. Such a rhetorical feature asserts the argumentative and persuasive nature of Al-Sudais's speeches. His speeches grant vigor to the energies of speech, and carries other meanings that lead to a change in the perceptions and attitudes of recipients. His speeches make the recipients abandon discord and replace it with a spirit of love and harmony; the thing that guarantees the happiness and solidarity of our nation.
