تجسدت أهمية البحث في السعي للوصول إلى استنتاجات علمية دقيقة وواضحة عن كيفية تعامل الصحافة الالكترونية مع المادة الإخبارية، وذلك من خلال بحث علمي يؤسس لخطرات بحثة أخرى ممكن أن تعزز ما ذهب إليه هذا الباحث في أن أسلوب التعامل مع المادة الإخبارية، خبرا كان ام قصة إخبارية أوتقرير إخباريا في الصحافة الالكترونية أخذ مسارا مختلفا عن الأسلوب التقليدي المتعارف عليه في عالم الصحافة الورقية ، أما من الناحية العملية فان النتائج التي خرج بها البحث يمكن ان تكون خارطة طريق لموقع إيلاف الالكتروني في خلق حالة من التوازن في التعامل مع المادة الإخبارية من حيث الموضوعات والنوع والقيم الإخبارية ومكونات الشكل الخبري والمجاد الجغرافي ومصادر المادة الإخبارية اذ تكون هذا البحث من ثلاثة فصول تناول الفصل الأول الإطار المنهجي المتمثل بمشكلة البحث والأهداف والأهمية وصولآ الى المنهجية التى انطوى تحتها هذا البحث وجاء الفصل الثاني الإطار النظري ليسلط الضوء على مفهوم الصحافة الالكترونية والسمات والقيم التي يحملها الخبر أما الفصل الثالث فتمثل بالإطار العلمى فتناول واقع موقع إيلاف الالكترونى وتحليل المادةالخبرية المنشورة خلال مدة البحث ومن ثم كشف النتائج بعد تفريغها من الجداول التي استخدمت لهذا الغرض، وخرج هذا البحث بعدة استنتاجات علمية قيمة استخلصها الباحث عن النتائج فضلأ عن بعض التوصيات لتقويم أداء موقع إيلاف الالكتروني.
