The current study aims to detect difference in performance between two categories, one that is dependent on alcohol and another dependent on Psychotropic Substance of synthetic amphetamines, on irrational ideas and negative health-beliefs questionnaires, which are generally associated with dependence, in comparison with normals. Hypotheses of current research have been developed based on several previous studies; four basic assumptions are: 1- There is a positive correlation between irrational ideas and negative health-beliefs, for both alcohol-dependents and amphetamines dependents. 2- There is a predictive variation in the capacity of each type of irrational ideas and negative health-beliefs according to the type of substance dependency, and continues of dependency. 3- There are differences between normals, alcohol-dependents and amphetamines dependents separately in the quality and quantity of irrational ideas and negative helth beliefs towards drug use. 4- There are differences between alcohol-dependents and amphetamines dependents, in the quality and quality of irrational ideas and negative health beliefs towards drug use. Within the framework of verification of the study hypotheses, the researcher used one of the methodological designs "studying of cases toward control group" in the highlight of "the comparative relational descriptive approach". The study was also conducted in an exploratory secondary study to verify the efficiency of psychometric study tools designed, on a sample of (110) males divided into three groups: a normal group (40) individuals, an alcohol-dependent group (35) patients, and an amphetamines dependent group (35) patients. The main sample of basic study included (180) male participants between the age of (20 to 45) years. The sample was divided into three groups: the group of normals as a control group, and two clinical dependent groups, alcohol and amphetamines dependents, (60) individuals for each group. The results of the study have come to verify the previous theoretical assumptions, as there are differences between normals and both dependent groups in the quality and quality of irrational ideas and negative health beliefs. Results also verified the existence of differences between the two clinical groups of dependents, accredited to each other in both variables of the study. The results showed a positive correlation between irrational ideas and negative health-beliefs, concerning both clinical dependent groups. Finally the results showed differing predictive capacity of each type of irrational ideas and negative health-beliefs, in the varying types of substances which may be consumed. All the results have been discussed and interpreted according to the wide range of cognitive models and theories.
